It all began in the year 1972. A motley group of students sat in the football ground of Government College for boys, Ludhiana. Feeling concerned about the wave of communist leanings in the youth of Punjab and erosion of moral and ethical values and glorious Sikh ethos, they resolve to organise and take up the challenge to stem the rot. Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, the organisation, gets rolling.
With five students in the lead, the youth met weekly to discuss current issues, historical perspectives and proactive approach to personal growth.
Registered initially as “Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle – Colleges”, it later graduated to its present name in 1980. More and more young boys and girls got attracted to the novel ways and progressive ideas of the organisation.
